In the run up to Christmas 2018 Hot Frit were delighted to be contacted by Gemma Collinge and Laura McGaghey from Lancashire Fire Service who wanted to know if we would be interested in making some awards… Hell yes!
The awards were for anyone working for Lancashire Fire Service, whom the service wished to acknowledge for going above and beyond their individual duties. The chosen few would recieve a Star of 2018 award for their brilliance!
There were 6 lucky recpients each based at stations across Lancashire.
It was very tricky for us to keep our mouths shut about who had won and what a fantastic idea we thought it was to recognise individuals and all the hard work they put in to make Lancashire Fire Service great… but now we are ready to shout about it!
Well done to Paul Hanson, Wendy Gaskell, Louise Rainford, Graham Eaton, Richard Holden and Michael Grimshaw and many congratulations!
Well it’s that time of year again… the flowers are blooming and the bees and wasps are stirring… the scent of spring is in the air and summer isn’t far away. It’s time again for Wedding Season, Hurray!
Hot Frit have produced a huge variety of wedding themed pieces over the last few years ranging from small but perfectly formed wedding favours and coasters to framed keepsakes. All of which are hand made and hand painted especially for our clients here at Hot Frit HQ.
We have stock designs which can be personalised with your happy couple’s details and are produced using beautiful multi coloured glass, glass frit and confetti glass.
If you would like us to produce something special for you but are a little unsure what you’d like, why not message us via the contacts form on our website www.hotfrit.co.uk or through our Facebook page by clicking on the Facebook icon.
Here at Hot Frit HQ we can design and make almost anything out of fused glass as gifts for weddings, birthdays, christenings, anniversaries, new babies, graduations, retirements… you get the picture!
If you have ever wondered where our studio is then look no farther.
You will now be able to find us, easy peasy, as we have attached our hand made fused glass door plate name plaque outside our front door at 122 Lowergate, Clitheroe. Where we share a creative space with Lightworks Stained Glass.
Ash from Lightworks Stained Glass very kindly helped us out by putting up the sign, what a happy worker he is! Thanks Ash!
If you like this door plaque we would love to make one for you with your house name or number on it.
Call in anytime you’re passing and have a chat, we’d love to make something super special for you!

We were very lucky to be seated next to Emma and Ian of Gazegill Organics who were not only lovely, but also won an award for the third year in a row! Well Done to all at Gazegill!
We are very much looking forward to visiting Gazegill in the very near future to see if can can carry on that conversation!!…
What an entertaining evening and another chance to get to know other local business owners and find out a little about what they do over a lovely meal (Thanks Mytton Fold) … and several glasses of fizz (Thanks Emma!).
January 2017…It’s a new year; what better way to brighten up a dark evening than a visit to Grindleton Brownies?!
Hot Frit were asked along to talk about life working as an artist. An opportunity we relished.
We packed up a selection of glasses, frit’s and a few sample pieces we had knocking about and set off to Grindleton to chat art and crafts with a lovely group of young ladies and their Brown Owl.
We were made very welcome and were delighted to see how interested and engaged the girls were in the experience. After a short talk about how we produce our wares and a demonstration of glass cutting and assembling pieces, the girls wanted to have a go themselves. We gladly encouraged them to place a piece of glass onto a clear ground for fusing and then brought their piece back to Hot Frit HQ for firing.
Thanks so much for inviting us we had a fabulous time!
